Christmas is a pretty different experience once you become a parent… In a good way… Perhaps a little more stressful but definitely also more enjoyable! The magical celebration aspect of Christmas comes back…
You now get to see Christmas through the eyes of a child. It’s a totally different perspective and a rather lovely one.
You are also now Santa. It is down to you to keep that magical story alive… can you sneak around laying the presents out ready for the big reveal in the morning?
Sneaking around at night and eating food that’s left out is now acceptable!! Did you mention to your child that Santa likes a glass of Gin because you may need one!?
You can choose to keep the traditions of your childhood or create your own for your family. How exciting!
Effectively you can make Christmas what you want it to be… creating those festive memories your child will always look back on. No pressure!
Watching your child open their presents is so much more rewarding than opening our own. Their smile, excitement, amazement… it’s just beautiful!
But remember if your child wakes up early… That’s it, your Christmas Day has begun whether you are ready or not!
You will be exhausted by the end of the day… but smiling! Your child will be happy and that makes everything worthwhile!
Sometimes being a Mum at Christmas can be a little bit of pressure… and we all know its pressure we put on ourselves to create the perfect day. The kids won’t notice if a few little details don’t go to plan… don’t worry! It’s a happy day!
I can’t wait to see Nathan’s face opening his presents, his enjoyment at playing games with family and treasuring these moments!
Im now signing off from the blog for a few days to immerse myself in the festive fun with family.
Thanks for reading my Blogmas posts and I wish you all a very merry Christmas! 🎄💕
