Recently, My Mum asked if I would attend The UK Monsters of Rock show with her. I didn’t really know much about it but I saw they perform songs from the likes of Bon Jovi so I agreed. Who doesn’t love a bit of Bon Jovi?!
This weekend, we rocked up at the Aberdeen Arts Centre, after dinner out, ready to see what the show was all about!
So, what is The UK Monsters of Rock Show?
The show claims it will “transport you back to the 80’s heyday of classic rock”
An experienced 5 piece band performing all your favourite rock hits from back in the day featuring songs by Guns N Roses, KISS, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more!
This Aberdeen show was the first show for the UK Monsters of Rock line up by Harder Rock Productions. They also have shows such as Bon Jovi Forever and Foo Fighters GB recreating the songs we all know and love, live on stage!
What did we think of the show?
We weren’t too sure at first what to expect but we really enjoyed the evening.
The music and vocals sounded good and it was fun to experience these classic songs live.
Poison by Alice Cooper
November Rain by Guns N Roses
Livin’ on a prayer by Bon Jovi
Here I go again by Whitesnake
I was made for loving you by KISS
My Mum is a big fan of Whitesnake and I love Bon Jovi… having seen them live in the past I wasn’t too sure how it would be hearing someone else do their songs. Sometimes other people singing the songs you like can be a total let down but thankfully that wasn’t the case.
We did find parts of it a little cheesy (bordering on cringey) but I think that’s just how I personally tend to find tribute style acts anyway.
It’s not nessecarily a big negative though as we still enjoyed it. A little cheesy cover version is fun once in a while… After all, I once went to a Spice Girls tribute concert!! Ha, in my defence I was only about 9 or 10 but I loved it!
A few of the audience at the UK Monsters of Rock show were older & seemed very excited by being at a live music show! It was rather amusing as I had been speaking earlier about coming up to 30 soon but after the show I felt pretty young!
They do say they will take you back to the 80’s and I was only born the second last month of 89, so in this setting, I’m just a young one!
By the end of the show everyone was up out of their seats, clapping and some were singing along. From the Final Countdown to Live and let die and from guitar to drum and keyboard… the crowds enjoyment and the atmosphere never faded!
I would be interested to see some of the other shows that Harder Rock Productions creates in the future. Keep an eye on their Facebook page to see if they have any shows coming up where you are.
